Infants & Toddlers

Our primary goals for our infant and toddler programs are to provide a loving and nurturing environment suitable for infant growth and development while promoting fine motor, gross motor, language, social, and emotional skills. We hope to develop a partnership with parents that serve in the best interest of the children.

Infant Program

At the infancy stage, babies develop bonds of love and trust with their caregivers as part of social and emotional development.  We promote a positive and loving environment by responding to your child's every coo and babble.  We read many stories listen to music and fingerplays to help your baby learn to use, develop and understand language and sounds.

Our highly qualified and professional staff will guide and encourage your child in every stage of his or her development. We recognize that each child has unique abilities.

We promote social, emotional growth, language, and cognitive development through a close relationship between child and caregiver. Our play equipment provides stimulating experiences for the children to learn through their natural curiosity.

We encourage parents to stop by and nurse or feed their infants and invite parents of toddlers to have lunch with us or participate in program activities.

Infant Program Mobility

When a child moves to the next level, a child's personal development is determined, including physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.    The Little House Preparatory School, does not have a set program schedule for our infants; instead, we encourage them to learn and play at their pace and on their schedule. Throughout the day, children may enjoy the large variety of readily available materials to them.  Our older infants may enjoy some art activities, finger play, parachute play, and felt board stories.  Children take daily rides in the four-seater "Bye-Bye Buggy."

At The Little House Preparatory School, we understand that Toddlers reach milestones in playing, learning, speaking, behaving, and moving.    Our caregivers plan activities that are intentional and provide the toddlers with many opportunities to move around,  follow simple instructions and directions, become aware of themselves and their surroundings, explore new objects, people while building vocabulary.

Our toddlers enjoy a flexible schedule that includes circle time, age-appropriate play stations, music, discovery, and many movement activities.  Stories are read to the children many times each day, as well as arts and crafts experiences.
